What testing is required for building curtain walls?

Building curtain walls require physical performance testing (wind pressure resistance, air permeability, rainwater leakage, and plane deformation performance testing reports), which is generally referred to as the four properties testing of curtain walls, compatibility and adhesion testing reports of silicone structural adhesives and weather resistant sealants, and on-site tensile force testing reports of embedded parts.
1、 Building curtain wall:
It refers to the non load-bearing outer wall enclosure of a building, usually composed of panels (glass, metal plates, stone plates, ceramic plates, etc.) and supporting structures behind them. The performance testing method for building curtain walls is:
(1) The acceptance of curtain wall engineering should be carried out after the completion of the building (excluding secondary decoration), and its surface should be wiped clean before acceptance.
(2) The following documents should be submitted during the acceptance of curtain wall engineering:
① Design drawings, documents, design modifications, and material substitution documents;
② Material and component factory quality certificates, profile test reports, structural silicone sealant compatibility and adhesion test reports;
③ Acceptance documents for concealed works;
④ Construction and installation self inspection records.
(3) The quality of curtain wall engineering should be inspected according to visual inspection and sampling inspection. Using one curtain wall as the inspection unit, each curtain wall should be inspected.
(4) The visual inspection of curtain wall engineering should be carried out according to the following eight requirements:
① The frame material of the exposed frame curtain wall should be vertical and horizontal; The joint of curtain wall partition glass should be straight and horizontal, with uniform joint width and in accordance with design requirements;
② The variety, specifications, and color of glass should be consistent with the design, and the color should be basically uniform. Aluminum alloy materials should not have phenomena such as alkali precipitation, mold, or coating detachment;
③ The installation direction of the glass should be correct;
④ The color of metal materials should match the design, and the color should be basically uniform. Aluminum alloy materials should not have delamination.
⑤ Aluminum alloy decorative pressure plate should have a flat surface and no visible deformation, fatigue lines, or local crushing defects;
⑥ The sealing, settlement joint, expansion joint, seismic joint treatment, and lightning protection system of the upper and lower sides and sides of the curtain wall should comply with the specifications.
⑦ The covering and decoration of concealed nodes in the curtain wall should be neat and aesthetically pleasing.
⑧ The curtain wall shall not leak.
